You don’t feel like yourself right now. Your body is changing every single week. Let’s make you feel beautiful!

You don’t feel like yourself right now. Your body is changing every single week. You catch a glimpse in the mirror and sometimes don’t recognize the woman staring back at you. And the idea of a camera being pointed at you? Terrifying.
We hear this from almost every client who walks through our door.
And then we photograph them — and everything changes.
Maternity boudoir photography is not about being a certain size, having perfect skin, or feeling confident before you arrive. It’s about what happens during the session — the moment a woman realizes that her body, right now, in this exact form, is extraordinary.
If you’re pregnant and sitting on the fence about booking a maternity boudoir session, this post is for you.
Maternity boudoir is an intimate photography experience that celebrates your pregnant body in a beautiful, empowering way. Unlike traditional maternity portraits — think flowy dresses in a field — boudoir maternity sessions are about you: your strength, your sensuality, your power.
Sessions typically take place in our private studio. You choose how much or how little you want to show. Some mamas come in silk robes and lace. Others go bare and bold. There is no wrong way to do this.
The result? Stunning, artistic images that document one of the most transformative times of your life — images you will want to keep forever.
This is the number one thing we hear. And honestly? It makes complete sense.
Most of us have never had a professional photographer whose entire job was to make us feel something — not just pose us into a cookie-cutter shot. Most of us have spent years avoiding photos, hiding behind our kids, or cringing at every image we see of ourselves.
Maternity boudoir is different. Here’s why:
You are guided every step of the way. Every pose, every expression, every angle — we direct you. You don’t have to know how to “model.” You just have to show up.
The environment is safe and private. This is an intimate experience, not a circus. It’s just you and your photographer in a calm, warm, unhurried space.
Your body does the work. You don’t have to be anything other than what you are right now. Your body is beautiful, and we know exactly how to show you that.
We have photographed women who cried the moment they walked in because they were so nervous — and who left saying it was the best thing they had ever done for themselves.

Your body will never be quite like this again. That is not a sad thing — it is a profound one.
The curve of your belly. The fullness. The roundness. The way light falls across a bump at just the right angle. These images, captured beautifully, become heirlooms.
Here’s what our Michigan maternity boudoir clients tell us after their sessions:
This is not vanity. This is documentation. This is legacy.
We want you to know exactly what you’re walking into so there are zero surprises.
Before your session: We do a full consultation to talk about your vision, your comfort level, your body, and what you want to feel in these images. We guide you on what to wear (or not wear), how to prep your skin, and what to bring.
During your session: We create a relaxed, unhurried experience. Music, good lighting, and endless encouragement. Start the pampering with complimentary hair and makeup and then go right into your session which typically takes 1–2 hours. You will be guided into poses that flatter your body and capture your bump beautifully.
After your session: You’ll have a private viewing/selecting appointment to review and choose the images that mean the most to you. All purchased images will be retouched to perfection. We also offer print products, albums, and wall art so these images can live somewhere you can see them — not just buried in a digital folder forever.
Let us be very clear: maternity boudoir is for every pregnant woman.
You do not need to be a certain size. You do not need to have a “perfect” pregnancy body. You do not need to feel confident walking in — that’s our job, to build that confidence with you.
Maternity boudoir is especially powerful for:

When should I book my maternity boudoir session? Our clients have their session between 24–34 weeks. This is when the belly is beautifully round but you’re still feeling relatively comfortable. We recommend reaching out early to reserve your spot, as sessions fill up quickly.
What do I wear? Whatever makes you feel like you. We can help with styling recommendations — from lingerie to silk robes to nothing at all (just a sheet and stunning light). We’ll discuss this in detail before your session.
Will I be comfortable? Yes. We specialize in working with women who are nervous, who have never done anything like this, and who aren’t sure they’re “the type.” You are the type. Every woman is the type.
Do you photograph partners or couples? Absolutely. Some clients love having their partner present, either for part of or the entire session. We can create both solo and couples images in the same session.
Where are you located? Two Wild Souls Photography serves clients throughout Michigan, mainly focusing on the Metro Detroit area and surrounding communities. Our studio location is in Downtown Rochester, Michigan.
You deserve images that show you exactly how powerful, beautiful, and extraordinary you are — right now, in this body, in this season of your life.
Don’t wait until after the baby to start celebrating yourself. This is your moment.
